He wants forever. She just wants his body. Neither of them want to give in.

Mitch Harris has it all. As a successful music manager, who isn’t hard to look at, he has women falling at his feet. And that’s just the way he likes it. For years he’s laughed as, one by one, his buddies have found their women and settled down. He vowed it would never happen to him. Until he sets eyes on the owner of the town’s new spa. Jodie Miller is everything Mitch didn’t think he wanted, but now desperately needs. She’s tough, wicked, smart and so damn sexy it hurts to look at her. Mitch isn’t sure if it’s love at first sight, or just plain lust. All he knows is that Jodie is the woman for him and he’ll do anything, and everything, to make her see that they are meant to be together.

Jodie Miller was inoculated against relationships when she divorced her ex. She learned the hard way that men might say they like strong, independent women, but in reality they’d rather tie themselves to someone who couldn’t kick their ass. As a martial arts expert, spa owner and proud feminist (she’s got the T-shirt to prove it), Jodie plans to pour her energy into her business instead of another relationship. She’s happy to let Mitch play the part of her sex toy—after all, she isn’t dead and he’s hot as hell—but there’s no way she’s giving him her heart. No matter how dirty he plays to get it.

***** This book comes with a bonus short story - Invertary, the finale. *****

Caught Romantic Comedy Scottish Highlands Invertary Book 7 edition by Janet Elizabeth Henderson Romance eBooks

A touching and sometimes humorous, romantic story of a safe house for abused women, disguised as a Spa/Restaurant. Except....the secret leaks out among the good, kooky townsfolk of Invertary, who rally around them and come to their rescue.

I loved Mitch Harris (from book #2) Goody Two Shoes: A Contemporary Romance (Scottish Highlands Book 2). He always made fun of all the guys who get "hooked into marriage" and vows it'll never happen to him (don't'cha just love it when they're the hardest to fall???!?). Mitch is an American living in Invertary, Scotland. He's Josh McInnes's music manager (book #2) and best friend. Just the dialogue alone between Mitch and Josh is worth the ticket price for this ride...they cracked me up with their banter. But it's when Mitch see's the new girl in class, Jodie Miller, that causes him to lose his thoughts...unable to breathe....and rethink his bachelor status. Aaaaaaaaand the fun begins. Because not only is Jodie Miller a gorgeous female specimen---she's smart, wickedly sexy and evilly sassy. And Mitch is completely twitter-pated before he even says "hello". Jodie has a strong personality that most men are threatened by. She's an alpha female that an insecure man would either run from, or try to overpower and change. She's a formidable force on the outside with a soft girly center. And Mitch finds the whole package alluringly, attractively and sexy. And he's a lost cause. (heheh)

I absolutely loved this story. It had more sex which is always a plus for me, but also a strong independent female character who is secure with herself.... who crosses paths with a strong, patient alpha male who is secure in his maleness. And Mitch Harris see's what he wants and let's nothing stand in his path to win it. Least of all, Jodie's fear of commitment. He slowly prowls forward to his goal of having Jodie to be his in a forever kind'a way. There's so many wonderfully beloved, kooky characters in this story, who live in Invertary. From the "Knit or Die" girls and the "Domino Boys", to all the main love interests of the previous books of this series. They're all added back in, updated and remembered in THIS story and it's wonderful. Jodie's brother, Deke...and Brenda, a victim of abuse, are the secondary love interests of this final installment. And they're just as fascinating and entertaining and humorous as the two main characters, Jodie and Mitch.

This story lightly touches on the topic of domestic abuse and traumatized women and the issues of insecurity and fear they face. There's more sex in this story, all conveyed in a tasteful, mature manner. There's more adult language too. The story, with all it's twists and turns, never lost momentum and the author summed it all up perfectly in the epilogue. Brilliant!

Caught Romantic Comedy Scottish Highlands Invertary Book 7 edition by Janet Elizabeth Henderson Romance eBooks Reviews

I have throughly enjoyed this series. I'm sad to leave this quirky little town behind. But I look forward to continuing with some of the characters in the spinoff series Benson's Boys. (The first book was great)
Mitch Harris, the consummate bachelor of the series, has met his match. And he's fallen hard. Love at first sight. But it's never as simple as that, is it? Never for anyone in this group.
Jodie Miller has come to Invertary Scotland with her brother to open their restaurant/spa. She is a tough as nails, take no bull from anyone female. And the last thing she is looking for is another relationship. Mitch is fine for a good time, but anything beyond that is not going to happen.
It doesn't take long for Jodi's past to catch up with her. And Mitch along with other townsfolk to jump in and do whatever it takes to make her safe again.
I loved the secondary storyline with Jodi's brother Deke and Brenda.
There were little snippets from all of the past characters. Like a family reunion. Not always pleasant, but throughly entertaining.
The epilogue takes us a few years into the future as all of our past couples come together for a wake. It was wonderful!
I started with #2 as I bought sometime back without remembering I had it. Got me hooked, bought #1, found that the series was not only interesting in the character building, but quirky perky dialogue with laugh-out-loud scenes & some that made we cry a tear or two. So bought the rest as I went along & after reading the whole 7 books, while I enjoyed them, must say they became formulaic after the 1st 3 in that all the male leads are 6' to 6' 2" with of course pecs to die for, shoulders that made all their intended have their panties melted, 2-4-6 pack abs despite hardly working out, all of them gave their women selfless sex initially, da da da. All the sex scenes are practically along the same lines - sniffs/bites at the muscles connecting the necks to shoulders, all guys have individually, pheromones smelling of all masculine but sexually charged smells, all females with the individual perfumes that could be bottled & their guys drown in, yadda yadda. So, go ahead & get them for a light read but don't read all of them one after another unless you are asking for boredom overload.
I preordered this book out of loyalty to this series, Mitch was not one of the more fascinating characters I enjoyed throughout this series. THANK goodness all the other characters from all the other books were in this last invertary book. Mitch although confident in his masculinity and totally opposite of an alpha male he was just a glutton for punishment falling for Jodie. I for one am a huge supporter for strong confident women but she was over the top, I mean if I had to read one more time how she could take any man I was going to scream! She bordered on mean and UNapproachable! I do not like when a male character is pushed around and made out to weaker than the female lead, equality baby, goes both ways! I liked the storyline and loved the secondary characters Deke and Brenda's romance. I honestly liked their story better than the main one with Jodie and Mitch. THANK goodness for all the recurring characters from the other books it saved this book for me. Betty is still her hilarious self at 89, and like the say in the book Satan will forever ) The wake at the end of the book brilliant, you get to catch up on all the characters and their lives 6yrs down the road and the wake, you question who died??? No one Betty is just being Betty her evil, brilliant self! I loved this series I laughed out loud and was entertained immensely with these books and this imaginary town of totally nutty people. I am sorry it has to end but will be watching for more from this author as she has given me hours of smiles and enjoyment. I truly loved these characters and I am sad to come to a close on this series.
